PInt (Pombe Interactome) is a tool that allows you to retrieve predictions of fission yeast protein interactions, based on more than 100 features of the proteins. The predictions were generated using two machine learning algorithms and the confidence score returned is used to rank the predictions according to their probability of being true.

Updated with the known genetic and physical interactions from fission yeast and budding yeast BioGRID version 3.1.92, September 2012.

Step 1: SELECT INPUT CHOOSING ONE OF THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS:

Option A - Insert a fission yeast systematic ID or common name (For example: klp2 or SPAC24B11.06C)

Option B - Insert a list of genes by ID or name (For example: atf1, klp2, gcn5, cbf11, ago1)

Option C - Upload file (Use a list of proteins in a text file with systematic IDs or common names separated by spaces/tabs/commas or in a single column)

Step 2: SELECT PREDICTION SETTINGS:

A - Interactions to retrieve

B - Prediction algorithm:

(RF returns less results with high scores, use this or SVM and RF combined if you want a few confident predictions. SVM will give more predictions but will also make more errors)

C - Output selection:

  • Retrieve only predictions with score above (number between 0 and 1, 0.5 suggested for RF and 0.8 suggested for SVM)

  • Visualize at most predictions. (All predictions can be retrieved in a text file)
